Bio
Laura Geier is a violinist and leading performer of the music of Eastern Europe. Having developed a passion for Romani (Gypsy) and Balkan music, she lived in Plovdiv, Bulgaria for one year supported by a prestigious Fulbright Grant, and subsequently traveled and spent extensive time in Romania, Moldova, and Turkey to pursue further studies, most recently with lautari violin master Marin Bunea of The Other Europeans. She has performed with well-regarded musicians such as Miroslav Tadic, Kate Conklin, Jessica Catron, Jim Grippo, Sofia Högstadius, Ryan Dart, Todor Bakoev, Vladimir Vladimirov, and the Plovdiv Academic Folklore Orchestra.

During her time in Europe, Laura has performed and toured with the Academic Folklore Orchestra, Sofia Högstadius (violin) and Valeri Dimchev (tambura) at the American University in Bulgaria, and in Sweden at the Umefolk Festival. Laura was featured on Bulgarian radio and national television and in Sweden on Swedish Radio and Television.
